Professional Solutions Online

If someone wanted to make 3d images what programs would you recommend for a beginner? Please include links to the programs. The programs must be free but also legal I don’t want to download any illegal software. I will only be using the software for personal use.

I use WindowsXP. If possible, could you also tell me why you like the program?
