The later you went, … The later you went, the better PC versions got in relation to Amiga. But yeah, go back far enough and even C64 versions are superior to PC.
r8qt7….You find … r8qt7….You find me a wrking VGA Version of Rick dangerous and ill Stand corrected other than that your coment means ….He was explaining how dos was for the Games that were released years before Dos you moron and Dos Still was .
There weren’t a lot … There weren’t a lot of VGA games around when the Amiga 500 was released in 1987 (or in 1985 when the first Amiga was released, for that matter).
I’ve just noticed … I’ve just noticed Lotus 3 music is almost the same as the music in Zool, but then they were both Gremlin games. Super vid. I think A-Train, Arcade Pool, and Pinball Dreams/Fanasies need to be compared also. Even when PC games had 256 colours (which A1200 can do anyway), the PC could not do scrolling, even up and down some unformatted text on a 2000 system was rough. Today when graphics move sideways on a fairly mordern PC it still spasses out now.
Ummm which games … Ummm which games exactly looked better using EGA? EGA was limited to 16 colours from a palette of 64. Quite abit less than the Amiga.
Seems like the … Seems like the developers designed their games for the Amiga and later ported it to DOS
I’ve never been into DOS or Amiga, so bare with me here
No I agree. The … No I agree. The 020s were already getting outdated, the HDD, although understandable considering the cost, was becoming almost essential, especially the first year or two after the 1200 was released. It certainly wasn’t future proofed.
But as far as graphics were concerned, AGA blew early VGA out of the water in a big way.
The A1200 was even … The A1200 was even out powered by Ataris effort in the Falcon. I did own an A1200 but again the problem was with support as at that time commodore was dieing and only had 1 year before it went bump! It was a good machine dont get me wrong but dont think it brought anything really new to the table unlike how the A500 did.
Yes well my opinion … Yes well my opinion on the A1200 really was that unlike how the A500 was a hugh leap beyond any other computer on the market at the time the A1200 really wasnt a leap more of a step lol. I tend to think for the time the A1200 was underpowered. It kept the Amiga 500 sound capabilities and used the same floopy drive despite the problems I stated of the amount of floopys games were comming on. It really needed a Hdd as standard. It was just too underpowered in my opinion for the time.
I’ll agree games … I’ll agree games ported over from the PC usually did not look very good, like most of the Sierra games (but I still loved “Quest For Glory” to death :D)
And you’re right HAM mode wasn’t really used much for games. But then that was the old OCS Ami 500, by the early 90s we had the A1200/4000 with AGA graphics, taking it one step beyond
Of course it wasn’t long after that that the IBM clones completely took over everything. ^^

This video is unfair for the PC. Some PC had better graphics becasue of EGA mode. And you showed the ugly CGA versions. Why?

500 letters are too little to describe my feelings right now! Oh you woken up some memories dude! Thanks for this video!
Amiga was much better than PCs for many years. Still it died. If the Amiga had advanced, instead of the PC, we would have much better machines now.
Anyway, VGA did miracles for the PC. I won’t forget the war against the Amiga from the adventure games making companies.
As for the sound, which seems to be the main focus of this video, well, PAULA rules, plain and simple!
