I flipped my bike (don’t ask how) and my back wheel keeps hitting the brake pad. I noticed it was bent, and I’ve never fixed a wheel before.I want to know if it’s easier to fix by myself or if i just take it to the shop. I also want to know how much it would cost. It’s not bent that much. The bike is a Schwinn Sidewinder.
First…take it to your local bike store.I am more then sure they will LOOK at the wheel for free and give you a guestimate on repair charges.
If it isn’t bent to badly (like taco’d) then they can trie to retrue the wheel on a truing stand. This will cost anywhere from $25 to $50+ depending on how hard it was for them to re true the wheel and any parts like spokes, nipples, rim, hub etc. have to be replaced.
If it is too bent to re trued then you will need to buy a new rim,but chances are if it can’t be re trued you will also need a new hub,but that’s rare.

I have that bike too and my back wheel bent also. I went to the bike shop and thay said like thirty dollars but i didn’t want to pay that much so my friend and i bent it back into place a little, not completely and a widened the brakes so it wouldn’t hit the tire anymore.

More than likely you will need to completely replace the rim. You can re-use the tire and inner-tube if still in good condition and the chain isn’t that hard to put back on with the back tire loosened/taken off
Check with your local bicycle shop to check their prices for a new rim (if available) and the cost for repairs; some might have special deals

it;s probably too bent to fix, since you know it;s from flipping
sometimes they just gradually get out of true, and that can usually be fixed
a big impact will bend it unfixably usually
or you can try the beat-on-ground method
a shop would charge as much to fix as getting a new wheel
or just say ’sorry no use to try ‘
you may as well try it

sidewinders aren;t great bikes
the wheel is prob too cheap to fix
