I usually start homework really late because of distractions, and was wondering how you get motivated.
What motivated me was the concern of not being able to get it done before it was due in class. All of us have similar problems whether we are in grade school, or adults going back to school. My best motivator is to get it done so that I can enjoy doing what I want to do. This is the process of putting responsibilities first. Distractions do not count for grades, good grades aid in getting good jobs or the college of choice. So, which do you want, fun now and hardship later, or self discipline now, and enjoyment later?

1) Have a separate space free of distractions (no cell, no TV, no radio)
2) Be prepared to take a 5 minute break every 1/2 hour to hour.
3) Have all your supplies there and ready to work.
4) Have a reward planned for when you are finished, even if it’s just TV time…

Drive by a gas station or a fast food place and pick out the oldest person there and imagine yourself as that person years from now if you don’t study.

i always open my book up to where i have to do the work and put a notepad and pen next to it, with the assignment (if its math) written down on the notepad so i know exactly what to do. then either it will happen naturally or you just turn off your tv and computer and just do it. if its opened up and all ready to do its a lot easier to get started.
