Do you think India is under prepared in their plans against South Africa in this test match?

Posted by admin on February 9th, 2010 and filed under india | 7 Comments »

South African claim that they have a plan to stop Sehwag from his aggression but today it did not look like India had done any planning to stop Amla and Kallis.
Team India even knew they are in good form currently and pose as a danger for team India still they did not seem like they had a plan for the South African batsman.
Your comments?

Yes they had plan against South africa !

If you would have noticed the fielder from silly point (Murali Vijay i guess) Quickly throw at non-striker end where kallis was a bit careless and would have become out with a fair bit of distant..

Zaheer had made Graeme Smith 7 times out in every Format of the game and bowled a very good length to take his wicket to his name.
Also to Ashwell Prince with a surprising bouncer to make him out..

It’s just they have not dominated their good start and there are playing some responsible inning now !

How do I start a book selling business in India?

Posted by admin on February 7th, 2010 and filed under india | 3 Comments »

I want to sell imported comics in India. I don’t know the procedure for doing so. How do I gauge the market? I will be starting from scratch. I don’t even have my own company at present. Does importing comics require an import license or will I be charged customs if I use a credit card to buy?
Thanks for reading.

unless you import in large quantity, no one is going to bother about import license.
customs duty is not linked to credit card.
after your merchandise reaches india from a foreign country, it goes through customs clearance.
customs duty may or may not be charged.

your idea is very good. go ahead.
but don’t jump in at once. take one step at a time.
don’t back off.
best of luck.

How will America be able to compete with India and China in economy which has a huge manpower?

Posted by admin on February 2nd, 2010 and filed under india | 8 Comments »

India’s current population is 1.16 billion..It is estimated that by 2020 India would have around 0.9 billion workforce!!!!!

And China also have billion plus population and huge workforce..

So, over a period of time, India and China will overtake USA in aggregate GDP (though far below in per capita)

What 1 American worker is doing with the help of automation, 50 Indian workers do manually. So population is irrelevant in GDP growth in the long run.

GDP is a measure of output. Output depends on input. Capital and education are essential inputs that China and India lack.

It also means prolonged low productivity breeds corruption as a way of life making the national institutions resistant to change.

An Indian baby since birth has to be fed, bathed, sheltered, clothed, educated and cared for at least a couple of decades before it turns out to become a working man. So for the first 2 decades, the baby is a liability, not an asset for the national economy. That’s why population growth has to be contained.

More likely Chinese and Indians will be pushed to unprecedented famines, civil wars and chronic debt like Africa.

Also note:
In 1900, Indian GDP was 10 times that of California.
In 1950, Indian GDP was on par with California.
In 2000, Indian GDP was 33 per cent that of California.

But in 2008, Indian GDP was 66 per cent that of California.
Looks like a bubble, isn’t it?

Indian leadership has refused to cap emissions standards. It shows resistance to change due to strong mining lobby.

In India Cricket players as a team are publicly auctioned. Is this ethical and legal ?

Posted by admin on January 30th, 2010 and filed under india | 5 Comments »

Rich people and celebrities own cricket teams purchased in auction much like Indian elite buy and bet on herds of fighting bulls, fighting rams and male version of hens. It is illegal and considered unethical .Does such auctions occur outside India and or players of any other game ? Can money enslave humans ?Is slavery allowed if slaves are paid higher amounts for their work ?
How is this qualitatively different from bonded labor ?

The same things happen in club football. If a club wishes to buy a player who’s a free agent or belongs to another club, he has to compete and bid with other clubs similarly wishing to employ him.

It also happens in club basketball, baseball, rugby etc. It was only a matter of time for cricket to become a part of this culture as well.

Not that I approve of what T20 cricket and IPL has made of this once gentleman’s sport.

I am studying in the 11th standard in India. I would like to do my under graduate engineering degree in A good Singapore college. How do I get admitted in Singapore. What is the age of admission?

For engineering, you can apply to either NUS or NTU. NTU is more oriented towards engineering, so you might want to consider that. You must study up to Standard 12. So i suppose you can only apply a year later.
