I keep on stopping. Writing a diary entry, drawing a picture, writing a new chapter to my story…
I need serious tips, man. I’m up to my neck in homework.
Do your work in a quiet environment, only have your homework and nothing else there. Turn off your computer, phone, and make sure your desk is completely empty of everything.
If that is not possible, then your other suggestion in to go to a library. There is nothing there that will distract you.
I have a lot of homework / studying to do. I’m just wondering whether it would be better to get all the little things done first, then tackle the big or vice versa. What do you do?
I say the hard stuff first, then the other stuff will seem extremely easy!
Whenever I do homework on the computer, I always find myself getting distracted by things like myspace, games, and such.
It’s really difficult to get my homework done in a timely manner.
Like I’m trying my best to not get distracted, but I eventually do. I’ve already tried downloading a site blocker add on for Firefox, but that still doesn’t work too well..
I’ve tried listening to music while doing homework, still nothing.
Helppppp
Can you disconnect your internet somehow? That used to help me.
I wait until late around 9 pm to do homework. This is because I feel ashamed when people come and ask me Are you doing homework. They come and knock on my door every 30 minutes. By this time I am tired and ready to go to bed. What can I do to stay on task and get my work done. Thanks! How many hours should I study for tests and quizzes?
Start early, and work until it’s finished. Stay off of Facebook and Yahoo Answers and stuff like that. And get over that thing about other people knocking on your door. I don’t even get why that keeps you from working. If they won’t let you work or they distract you, tell them to leave.
For the first time in two months I’ve actually gotten homework done before the time it’s due. Granted, it’s online homework due at exactly 2:05 a.m. tomorrow morning but still. I’m early. It is such an awesome relief. Maybe this will motivate me to get the rest of my homework done on time? Ehh, it was worth a shot. I’m off for some pie.
How relieved are you when you finish your homework ahead of time? Or when you get anything done ahead of time?
Yes! I feel really proud of myself when I finish homework on time, like a heavy brick has been lifted off my head. Sadly, it’s a rarity.
I once studied TWO days in advance for my math test. It was such a relief not to be cramming the night before/morning of, and it was the best test I’ve done this year.
But this week I’ve been cramming, falling asleep at my desk, procrastinating, and skipping classes to finish assignments/study. Glad tomorrow’s Friday.
I can’t be bothered to do my homework, or study any more. Most nights I get home from school and don’t get anything done, then feel guilty about it later. My assignments are constantly left to the night before they are due. I always tell myself that im going to change these habits, but i never do. What are your tips for getting homework done, studying, avoiding procrastination, getting motivated to do school work, and planning my time wisely. Im a girl in juniour year at high school.
Youtube some videos on the topics covered in class. Do a search online and watch a related movie then get your books out and be ready to dive in. As soon as you get home empty your backpack out onto your bed and always have your bed clean before going to sleep. Be sure to apply what you are learning to things that are going on in life at the time. Ask and see what others have to say on the topic. Have a study party on Sundays where you and 5 other friends gather to do leftover homework together. And don’t turn to food or other things outside the home when you have homework to do. Just put the important fun first, homework second, and food and outings last. Good luck and many blessings to you.You have already identified a need: motivation. Now you only need to map out / brainstorm what motivates you and integrate those things into study time too.
A lot of people in my house don’t often do their homework or have trouble with it. How can we organize that so everyone does their homework and gets the help that they need?
Kids that go to school preschool to seniors in high school.
Kids that get hw about 1st grade and up.
There’s lots of kids.
I havnt done home work since 8th grade when i had straight A’s. Homework isnt as important as you’d think, whats important is that they get the general idea of whats being taught, but regarding your question..:
Help with homework is called Google, most schools also have online help for all the classes, like a homework helpline, as far as ‘organized homework’ I’m not sure how anyone could answer that.. I mean you just tell them to do their homework as soon as they have free time at home, and they won’t want to. Personally if I couldn’t finish the assingment -in school- then it was too much and i just wouldn’t do it, and i still got the grades to pass effectively.
When they come home, tell them to sit down and try to help them with the homework, and most parents can’t help their kids because the material advances too fast, so just give them a computer for help, which will end up with them playing games instead, so maybe you could send the kids to a friends for help, but wait that will just end up giving the kids a friend to play with instead of homework.
Bottom line, Responsibility is something you are taught as a child, and theres no way to make your kids want to do their homework. Its impossible. Give them a treat and train them like dogs, thats the only thing that works, or you could beat them everytime they dont do their homework when you asked, unfortunately, there is no golden answer. Sorry and goodluck, you’ve just asked a conundrum.
I am teaching 2nd grade this year and they are going to have a weekly homework sheet with certain routines but I don’t want to start this until the second week of school. I still want to assign homework beginning on the first day. What are some good, easy assginments when the first week is shorter and will not be too concerned with academic work (mostly rules, class routines, and assessment)? Many thanks.
ASSIGNMENTS- sorry!
Here are a few ideas:
-Send home a copy of the classroom rules with a check box next to each rule. For homework, ask the students to check the boxes next to the rules that they think they will have the easiest time obeying using a blue crayon; using a red crayon, check the rules that they think they will have to work the hardest to follow and obey. (This activity will somewhat ensure that they have had to "contemplate" the rules and how they will apply to them personally.)
-Ask them to draw a picture of what they envision their goals to look like this year.
-Give each student a blank name card and instruct them to write their name on it and decorate it any way they would like. Once they are returned, use the name cards to help the students learn each others names.
-Tell the students to choose 10 letters from the alphabet and find/write down 10 items in their house that start with each of the letters. Tell them that the class will vote on what item is the most unique.
And what grade are you in?
I’m a sophomore this year, and I’m just buried in homework. I’m taking all honors courses, but it’s so much work one week, and then no work another week. It’s killing my soul, I swear.
I had around 3 hours today :(. I’m in 10th grade
I am one of those teens you want to do homework but i just don’t get into it. I bring homework to do but i say to myself i will do it later and i just keep pulling it off and then i have to do it in homeroom. I am tired of this plz help me.
Think of doing your homework just the same way as adults think about their work. This is now your job and if you do well at your job you will do well in life. If you dont, you may end up with a career working at mediocre jobs and living paycheck to paycheck with a multitude of financial problems for the rest of your life.
