I am asking this because I want to know what kind of workload is expected from a math instructor. Answer these other questions too
2) Does your teacher assign online homework?
3) Does you teacher collect homework everyday, once every week, or on another routine schedule?
4) How does your teacher grade your homework?
In my math class, the average that each student takes to do their homework every night is about one hour. My teacher doesn’t assign online homework and collects our homework every day. Our homework is graded on whether or not you completed it for two points. Occasionally, my teacher will have surprise homework check quizzes that are worth about eight points.
I usually start homework really late because of distractions, and was wondering how you get motivated.
What motivated me was the concern of not being able to get it done before it was due in class. All of us have similar problems whether we are in grade school, or adults going back to school. My best motivator is to get it done so that I can enjoy doing what I want to do. This is the process of putting responsibilities first. Distractions do not count for grades, good grades aid in getting good jobs or the college of choice. So, which do you want, fun now and hardship later, or self discipline now, and enjoyment later?
I heard that you just have to read a lot and no real homework, just tests. Is this true for general and higher level classes. For one three credit class, what is the amount of homework.
From my three years in college so far, I have to say that the amount of homework you do is totally up to you. There is a ton of reading, and every professor you have will tell you that you MUST read the book to pass the class. That is not always true, depending on how your teacher presents the material in class. As far as tests go, many teachers just have students do a midterm and a final. It sounds easier, but trust me, having only one test for two months of material is a total overload. Plus, it puts all the weight of your grade on two tests alone, so you pretty much only have two shots to make your grade. My college counselor told me when I first started that one unit equals two hours of study time per week. So for you, plan on doing six hours of work per week. Now don’t be intimidated, all of these factors depend on what type of professor you get, how dense the course work is, and your own personal work ethic and dedication to your studies. Best of luck to you! and great decision to pursue a higher education. it is all worth it in the end.
Assume that there is a tutoring service that takes place on your school campus right after classes, and the tutors there are well-trained and good at helping you do your homework and prepare for tests. How much would you be willing to pay per hour for this service? Also, please indicate what grade you are in. Thanks!
it depends on the classes you need and how much work you need help with it. at school (so in college) its about $10 an hr, but it all depends. lol
I wanna know a specific name for them.
Lets say Y is doing X’s homework, against his will. What will this situation be called? I mean in a sentence..
Hope you understand it.
X is leeching off Y.
X is a freeloader.
X is a parasite.
X is taking advantage of Y.
X is abusing Y’s kindness.
X is bullying Y.
X is harassing Y.
X is blackmailing Y.
and so on…
I’m in 10th and get 2 hours of homework every night…. And 90% of it is from math…. **** my math teacher. What about you?
You guys should really not complain. I go to an arts school that starts from 7:30 to 3:45 and it takes me over an hour to get to and from school. I am in 12th grade and I have to do college applications, take act/sat, practice the flute for 2 hrs., ap statistics hw for 1.5 hrs., ap us gov. for 2 hrs., ap english 1 hr, anatomy&physiology for 1 hr. When do I sleep?
It seems like everything that I do I just can’t get myself to do any homework even though I need to do it in order to graduate with honors. Are there anyways that I can motivate myself? I need something inspiring!
Thank you for any help!
Take a break. Head down to your local Wal-Mart or McDonalds. Take a look at the workers there that are over the age of 30.
This is why you want to do your homework.
Sorry if I sound like an idiot asking this.
I want to be part of a student exchange program in England and so I have been doing some research.
The thing that I have been wondering about is how much homework do high school students get assigned?
I would prefer the answer from a current or former high school student from England, but all answers are welcome!
Thank you ahead of time
I’m in Year 10, I’m 15 years old. We’re supposed to get homework in most of our lessons, mainly English, Maths and Science.
I study Art and Design, Psychology Spanish and Religious, and I only get homework every few weeks.
At my school, when we’ve got exams, other subjects aren’t supposed to give us homework because we’re supposed to revise.
This is only what happens in my school, I’m not sure about anywhere else, I suppose all schools are different.
Hope this helps
I keep on stopping. Writing a diary entry, drawing a picture, writing a new chapter to my story…
I need serious tips, man. I’m up to my neck in homework.
Do your work in a quiet environment, only have your homework and nothing else there. Turn off your computer, phone, and make sure your desk is completely empty of everything.
If that is not possible, then your other suggestion in to go to a library. There is nothing there that will distract you.
I have a lot of homework / studying to do. I’m just wondering whether it would be better to get all the little things done first, then tackle the big or vice versa. What do you do?
I say the hard stuff first, then the other stuff will seem extremely easy!
